Students also should enter in January having earned 12-15 credits to stay on track to graduate with their freshman class. The linked Credit Worksheet is designed to help January Program students discover how they can earn those credits.

When January Program students transition to the University for full-time studies, they take part in Spring Convocation, a Winter Welcome Dinner, and a series of orientation workshops designed to help them become part of campus life.Jake Bernstein, class of 2010.

When they arrive on campus, they also receive the support of Washington University Student Associates (WUSA's) and a Peer Health Educator who provide helpful information and peer support throughout the spring semester.

Over the years, many students in the January Program have made the transition to campus successfully, and have come to see their fall experience and the January Program as essential parts of their Washington University education.

"I became involved in many activites my fall semester. ... Participating in the January Program molded me to be a more flexible and adaptable individual." Jake Bernstein, class of 2010.

"The faculty and staff in Arts & Sciences are incredibly supportive, whether you’re pursuing a study-abroad opportunity or organizing a community service project."
