Dean Herman is a member of the Life Sciences Team, coordinates a freshman seminar on the history of the Homer G. Phillips Hospital, and directs the MCAT preparation course. In these capacities, she interacts extensively with students planning on pursing medical school or other professional programs. She also works closely with Dean Davis in preparing transfer students for their transition into the Washington University community.
Dean Kerth serves the College Office as an assistant dean. She is a four-year adviser for Arts and Sciences undergraduates as well as the Pre-Law adviser.
In addition to four year advising of undergraduates in Arts and Sciences, Dean Kiefer works with current students and alumni interested in national and international scholarship and fellowship programs including the Rhodes, Marshall, Mitchell, Churchill, Truman, Goldwater, Jack Kent Cooke, Beinecke, Udall, and Carnegie programs. Dean Kiefer is also the Associate Director of the Office of Undergraduate Research and teaches courses in the Praxis Program, a complement to the student's major designed to offer opportunities to combine the foundation of a liberal arts education with marketable skills.
Dean Laurita directs the Peer Advising program. As the director of Peer Advising, Dean Laurita meets with and trains all peer advisers and directs a team of undergraduate interns who assist her with the program. Dean Laurita also works with the Mellon fellowship program, as well as the Undergraduate Honors fellowship.
Dean McWilliams oversees the progress counseling program, which supports students who have experienced academic difficulties. He also works with students going on, and returning from, leaves of absence and medical leaves of absence.
Dean Romney works with students interested in pursuing careers in the Life Sciences. In this capacity, she works closely with Kirsten Smith, as well as Deans Herman, Downey, and Stahl. Dean Romney also has taken a lead role in helping students adapt to the Arts and Sciences Curriculum, running a number of "Clusterama" sessions and Planner sessions during the academic year. Dean Romney is also the point person for all sophomore concerns and works with Dean Killen in the certification of graduates. She also works with inter-division transfer and dual degree students.
