Dean Svobodny serves as a four-year adviser for Arts & Sciences undergraduates. She also teaches Russian language, literature, and culture courses and serves as a major adviser for International and Area Studies.
Dean Toliver-Diallo serves the College Office as an assistant dean and four-year advisor. She manages the Junior year programs including the Junior Jumpstart program for rising seniors in the College of Arts & Sciences. She works with Laura Stephenson and the Ervin Scholars Program. Dean Toliver-Diallo also advises the African Students Association, an organization of both undergraduate and graduate students, as well as Black Anthology, the student-run theater production. She works closely with the African and African American Studies Program, where she advises students in the major and, sometimes, teaches a course. Each spring, she coordinates the university's African Film Festival.
Dr. Woods splits his time between the College of Arts & Sciences, where he is Assistant Dean and Program Director for the uSTAR scholars program, and the departments of Radiology and Physics, where he is an Assistant Professor and a member of the Division of Biological and Biomedical Sciences. Dean Woods supervises numerous programs that relate to instruction and mastery of physics, undergraduate research, and graduate-school pursuits of science majors. His multi-departmental administrative efforts are mirrored by his multidisciplinary academic research, which is focused on the intersection of MRI physics and biology through developing better techniques to image and understand lung structure and physiology, in health and disease.
Harriet works exclusively with the January Program students. Harriet's duties include organizing orientation events, weekend events during the fall semester, and assisting students with registration.
Trevor works with both curriculum and the special majors program. As curriculum coordinator, Trevor answers questions regarding clusters, curriculum, and courses. A&S special major students and their advisers should also direct questions to Trevor.
Marilyn manages the operations of the College and works with the deans in providing students with assistance and support to meet their academic goals.
