Thursday, May 18, 2017, 8:30 a.m. to about 11:00 a.m.
Live streaming of the ceremony will be available here on the18th.
Some details about the Ceremony:
The College holds its Recognition Ceremony in the Brookings Quadrangle, a green space that also serves as the location for the All-University Commencement. If it rains, the Ceremony will still be held outdoors. Only in the event of severe weather, such as a forecast thunderstorm, will the event move indoors. Tickets are only required for the indoor location. For additional information regarding weather, please see the section entitled Weather Plan.
For individuals sensitive to the elements, several nearby lecture halls offer closed-circuit viewing of the event:
- January Hall, Room 110
- Brown Hall, Room 100
- Busch Hall, Room 100
In addition, the Ceremony will be streamed live at college.artsci.wustl.edu
A professional photographer photographs each graduate, and the proofs are emailed to students shortly after the ceremony.
Additional questions can be directed to 314-935-8252 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Three entrances to the Quadrangle are ramped for wheelchair access including the entrances south and north of Ridgley Hall and between Duncker and Cupples I Halls. Once inside the Brookings Quadrangle, guests with special needs will be assisted by one of the ushers for proper seating.
Accessibility maps and information about buildings on campus can be found on our Facilities website.
An American Sign Language interpreter will be present during Commencement and during individual school ceremonies.
The College of Arts & Sciences Recognition Ceremony will be moved from the Brookings Quadrangle to the Field House in the Athletic Complex if a weather-related situation prevails. The undergraduate ceremony will be held indoors if:
- Violent weather endangers the safety of graduates and guests.
- Inclement weather in the days leading up to the Ceremony destroys/threatens the grounds of the Brookings Quandrangle.
Seating is limited in the Field House. Each graduate will receive two tickets for guest seating inside the Field House. Additional guests may view the ceremony from other campus locations. Graduates will receive their tickets and more information about the ceremony when they pick up their academic regalia in May.
The decision for implementing the Weather Plan will be made by Wednesday, May 17, at 5 p.m. The College of Arts & Sciences home page (college.artsci.wustl.edu) will post the decision. A campus-wide e-mail notification will also be sent.
